Photo Guidelines

Please follow these easy guidelines for submitting photographs of the structure you wish to have me to draw.

You should provide at least three good-quality, clear photos of your home, business, lighthouse or other structure.  Please refer to the three sample photos provided in this website.

Please note: As a freestyle artist, I am concerned with capturing the essence of the structure being drawn, not necessarily scale model precision. Technique and artistic license are important. Even so, I do my best to adhere to accuracy in dimension and perspective. This means you should take your pictures from the vantage points that conveys your house in its best light showing the lines that best characterize it.

Photo 1

Not a good photo – too much garage.

Photo 2

Not a good photo – front-on views do not give dimension or depth.

Photo 3

Good photo!  It gives dimension and balance.  Please take three photos of this view from different distances. Be sure that at least one view is of the full house and some surroundings.

I will include trees, shrubs and other landscape details; but I will leave out unimportant items such as roadside mailboxes, hydrants and utility poles unless you want them drawn in. You can specify any special drawing considerations on the purchase page.
